DA Preparation – Vega Australia headquarters, Caringbah

KJ Planning assisted with gaining development consent for a large commercial and industrial complex of buildings in a new business park estate in Caringbah. This development is to be the Australian headquarters of German Company, VEGA, which manufactures level and pressure instrumentation for the process industry. KJ Planning prepared a Statement of Environmental Effects and provided input into the design process to ensure the proposal complied with the local planning controls and suited the client’s needs. Liaison with Council was also provided throughout the project.

DA Preparation – Lever Street Reserve for Bayside Council

KJ Planning prepared a Development Application on behalf of Bayside Council for the redevelopment of the Lever Street Reserve in Rosebery. This required the preparation of a Statement of Environmental Effects, various plans and diagrams and the submission of the application to Council.

Serviced Apartments (Mascot) – DA Assessment for City of Botany Bay Council

KJ Planning undertook the assessment of this proposal which required resolution of a number of complex issues and consideration of numerous submissions from the community. KJ Planning’s expertise led to the identification of key issues and development of solutions to each, through rigorous negotiations between the Applicant, Council and the Regional Planning Panel.

Land and Environment Court Proceedings – Multi dwelling Development at Botany

KJ Planning was involved in Land and Environment Court proceedings for a multi dwelling development in Botany. This appeal was successfully negotiated between the Council and the applicant with a favourable outcome provided for the site. Various issues of design, heritage, bulk and scale and other legal issues were resolved.

DA Preparation – Barry’s Metal Fabrications Mortdale

KJ Planning prepared a Development Application to Georges River Council for the construction of a new Industrial Building for a roofing company based in Mortdale, Sydney. This involved the preparation of a Statement of Environmental Effects and coordination of sub-consultants for the provision of architectural plans and specialists’ reports. The proposal received a successful approval from the Council.

DA Assessment – Department of Planning DAs

KJ Planning was engaged by the Department of Planning and Environment to provide specialist assessment services for a selected number of large-scale development applications. These included, among other applications, the following:

  Assessment of a Major Project application for a $25m greenfield subdivision proposal at Tweeds Heads. KJ Planning Coordinated and undertook the assessment of several design and technical issues, including negotiations with local and state agencies, as well as supervised design changes. Following a thorough assessment report, approval was ultimately granted by the then Planning Assessment Commission.

  Assessment of a Major Project application for a $370m proposal for a tourist and residential development at Comberton Grange South Nowra. This application posed ecological, bushfire, traffic and access concerns to the surrounding environment. KJ Planning provided an invaluable solution that satisfied the Applicant and settled concerns of the Department.

Development Consent Conditions for City of Botany Bay Council

KJ Planning was sought out by the City of Botany Bay Council to review the Standard Conditions of Development Consent. A revised suite of development consent conditions was provided, transforming an archaic Conditions of Consent framework, through omitting redundant conditions and optimising those still valid. The project involved conducting research around best practice standards and managing implementation. Handed over was a fully updated and consolidated set of Standard Conditions of Development Consent to be used for all future development approvals issued by the Council.

DA Assessment of Heritage Building (Finnies) for City of Botany Bay Council

KJ Planning undertook a detailed and thorough assessment of a development application for alterations and additions to a heritage listed building in Botany on behalf of the City of Botany Bay Council. This included extensive assessment of planning issues, design changes and the consideration and coordination of technical issues with subsequent approval by the Regional Planning Panel.
